“Let people enjoy things” in response to criticism of said things speaks to a deep insecurity, like if you feel you’re not allowed to enjoy something anymore because someone else criticized it, you need to learn to sit with the idea that nothing is sacred (especially not mass culture) without acting like someone’s holding a gun to your head and threatening to pull the trigger if you smile at the tv. Like legitimately nobody’s critique can stop you from Having Fun if you don’t take it as a personal attack on who you are at your core. I was gonna call this tendency “baby losing their pacifier behavior,” but babies have more dignity by far; infants don’t act personally victimized if you insult cocomelon. Can’t say the same for tumblr. To take on the goo goo ga ga mindset would be an improvement

[That’s what the world is, after all: an endless battle of contrasting memories.]
once i start sleeping normally again and start eating normally again and stop being weighed down by the dread and despair of overwhelming loneliness and the fear that i am an unlovable failure who is wasting their life away then it’s over for you bitches !
